What We Do

SBCC kids

Sunday Morning Assembly:  9:30 – 10:55 a.m. Everyone is welcome – especially people who have little or no background with the Bible, who are coming to a church for the first time. We serve free coffee & refreshments downstairs after our assembly, so that we have time to get to know each other better.

Sun - Gathering
Gathering: Sundays, 11:15 a.m. Everyone is welcome – especially people who have little or no background with the Bible, who are coming to a church for the first time. Our Gathering is a less formal kind of worship assembly – we use more contemporary music, more frequent opportunities for prayer, both men and women participate in praying, reading, sharing of the Word. The Gathering is especially for many people who want to meet the Lord – and bring others to the Lord – in a more intimate, freely expressive environment.

We serve weekly Communion for everyone who’s been baptized. See the “FAQs About Us” for more information, and leave a note on this page with any other questions or comments you’d like to share.

Being baptizedBaptism is available for everyone who has decided to accept God’s invitation to follow Jesus.  We baptize whenever people are ready – so this happens at various times. If you’ve never seen a baptism before, you’re welcome to come share in the joy and learn. For more information, see the “Q&A: Baptism, Our New Birth.” Be sure to leave a note on this page with any questions or comments.

Sunday Children’s Bible Classes: 10:15 a.m. during our assembly teaching time, for all ages.

CoolywedsMid-Week Home Groups

Several groups meet during the week, in homes of members and at the church building. At various times we host groups for women’s ministry, newly married couples, parents, our “Roots” course for pre-Christians who want to learn more about following Jesus, people who want simply to pray together and sing together, etc. The schedule is always changing. “GLOBAL VILLAGE, GLOBAL CHURCH”

We are blessed with members and friends from all over the world. Sometimes we have special opportunities to serve and learn in other countries. In recent years our members have been to over 20 different countries, in various ways, serving the Lord in many different kinds of short-term missions. You’ve heard the saying that we live in a “global village” – we want to bring honour to God in that global village, as a global church.

True North Helping Hands (Mexico Summer Team) Each summer a group of our members and friends travels to Baja California, Mexico to build homes and schools for the poor of the area. See their website at truenorthhh.org

These are wonderful opportunities to serve people in Jesus’ name, to learn the joys of working together.  For more information, see the links, and leave a note on this page.
