Are there times in which ALL members meet? I mean ALL. A chance for everyone to meet and greet? Perhaps a potluck meal…regardless of language or cultural differences…
I have heard good things about your congregation..can it all be true?
I am listening…
Hi, Al — thanks for the kind words about our reputation with you. I’m not sure what you’ve heard about us, but we’ll do our best.
God is the One who’s really good. We’re all learning from Him, and we’re probably more “human” than you’ve heard. But He’s helping us to do better.
On Sunday mornings the large majority of our members and friends– of all cultures — are all together for our assemblies. Each Sunday we serve coffee and refreshments downstairs after the assembly and classes, and a lot of people stay and talk for more than an hour after our formal time is done. About every 6 weeks or so we hold “potluck” shared lunches, various celebrations (weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, etc.), international potluck shared lunches, etc. at the building. Everyone who meets with us on Sundays is always welcome to our shared lunches, too, and we usually have a lot of people at our events. Newcomers are especially welcome. All of these are good ways to become better connected with us as a whole, and to find your way into new friendships with us individually.
Our 220+ members and friends come from all over metro Vancouver, from Richmond to east Abbotsford, from South Surrey to the North Shore. We’ve never had absolutely “everyone” together on any given Sunday. But most of the time you’ll meet the large core of “us” each Sunday.
I hope this answers your question …
